The U.S. National Junior Team is beginning to take shape for the 2026 IIHF World Junior Championship, which opens Dec. 26 in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minn. Team USA will be going for its unprecedented third-straight gold medal on home ice and now we have an idea of who will take on that challenge.

The World Junior Championship is now just six weeks away. This is the time when decision makers are narrowing down their list for who will get an invite to camp and who is ultimately going to be on the final roster.

Boston College made its biggest splash yet for its future in landing a verbal commitment from Rocco Pelosi, one of the best 2009-born forwards in the United States. The National Team Development Program-bound center announced his collegiate plans on his Instagram Sunday.

The Boston University Terriers have made their latest major splash in recruiting by landing a commitment from one of the top U.S. 2009-born forwards Carter Meyer, he announced via social media. The Winchester, Mass., native is slated to play up to the next two years at USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program before joining BU for the 2027-28 season.

The U.S. will begin its quest for an unprecedented three consecutive gold medals at the World Junior Championship in late July. USA Hockey announced the 42-player roster for its annual World Junior Summer Showcase event, which will help the decision makers evaluate the players in the running to be on Team USA’s roster at the 2026 World Juniors held in the Twin Cities.

The NHL Draft is a week away and the craziness of the buildup is well underway. Predicting the first round is always difficult, because so much information flies around and it's hard to separate fact from fiction. FRISCO, Texas – Boston University freshman defenseman Sascha Boumedienne has made the most of his time away from campus at the 2025 IIHF Men’s World Under-18 Championship. The 18-year-old blueliner has broken the single-tournament record for points by a defenseman. He is up to 14 points in the tournament after recording two assists in the first two periods of Sweden's quarterfinal against Finland.

The 2025 free agent signing period for undrafted NCAA players is well underway as many teams have seen their seasons come to an end. NHL teams are often looking for players that can potentially help the depth of their lineup or at least find some new, older prospects for their farm system.

The Western Michigan Broncos have won their first NCAA Hockey Championship in program history, defeating Boston University 6-2.
