Pelosi, who is the younger brother of Boston Bruins draft pick and Quinnipiac forward Chris Pelosi, has long been considered one of the top players in his age group. He had 140 points in 60 games for Mount St. Charles’ 15U team in 2024-25 and was selected to play for the U.S. National Under-17 Team at the NTDP in 2025-26.
Mount St. Charles won the USA Hockey Tier I National Championships at both the 14U and 15-only levels with Pelosi as a leading player. The Mounties won both championship games in overtime, and each time Pelosi was on the ice when the winning goal was scored. This spring, he got the primary assist on the championship-winning goal, capping a 12-point tournament during which he produced eight goals.
Pelosi’s commitment comes just a week after the Eagles secured a commitment from Finn Sears, another top 2009-born player heading to the NTDP next season.
There has been quite a battle brewing between BC and Commonwealth Ave. rivals Boston University when it comes to snapping up the best American-born players hailing from the Eastern U.S.
BU landed commitments from Carter Meyer and Sam Pandolfo after incoming juniors in high school were able to start speaking with schools officially Aug. 1. Both will be teammates with Pelosi and Sears next season at the NTDP.
Meyer and Pelosi were largely considered two of the very best in the class and now will get a chance to go head to head after being teammates over the next two seasons at USA Hockey Arena.
Pelosi hails from Sewell, N.J., not far from the Gaudreau family, who are synonymous with both Boston College and hockey in New Jersey. In his Instagram post announcing the commitment, there were also pictures of the late Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau during their BC days, as well as Tony Voce, who also passed away last year and came to BC from nearby Philadelphia. There’s not just a Boston College and hometown connection though for the Pelosis.
Both Rocco and Chris Pelosi grew up playing in the Hollydell Ice Arena, which was the rink where the Gaudreau brothers grew up in as well. Voce also worked there as a coach after his playing career was over.
Now Rocco will be following them to another next step in his career.
Pelosi and the 2025-26 U.S. National Under-17 Team will play their first USHL game against the Madison Capitols on the road on Oct. 3. You'll be able to catch the game right here on FloHockey.
