The AHL's best players were in Palm Desert, CA to compete in the 2025 AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Sunday, Feb. 2. Read the recap and results.

The 2025 AHL All-Star Skills Competition gave the league’s top talent a chance to show off their elite skill at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California, home of the Coachella Valley Firebirds, the AHL affiliate of the NHL’s Seattle Kraken.

Along with the skills competition, the event includes a Hall of Fame ceremony and the AHL All-Star Classic, a high-energy 3-on-3 tournament to determine the league’s top division on Monday, Feb. 3.
Sunday's skills event featured challenges in areas such as puck control, speed, rapid-fire shooting, hardest shot, accuracy, and more. It was an East vs West showdown as all-star players competed to earn goals for their side for being successful in each of the seven events.

Western Conference Wins Puck Control Relay Event, 3-1 Over East
After Charlotte Checkers' John Leonard lost the puck in the puck control relay event, the Western team was able to secure round one for the first point of the night.
Eastern Conference evened it up in round two.
Western Conference's Cameron Hebig won round three over Owen Pickering.
Jeremy Davies lost an edge and Coachella Valley hometown favorite Jani Nyman won the final round for the West.
