It’s time for one of the most anticipated events of the season - the 2023 NHL Draft at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. First round picks are set to start June 28, and the remaining rounds continue on June 29. 

It’s almost certain that the night will start off with the Chicago Blackhawks choosing Connor Bedard as No. 1 pick. Bedard’s 2022-2023 season stats make him one of the most exciting prospects hockey has seen in a long time.

The rest of the night could also determine the future outlook for some NHL teams, including their expectations for next season.

The NHL draft first round will air on ESPN, ESPN+ and the rest on the NHL Network.

NHL Mock Draft Projections 

Chicago Blackhawks get the first pick of the night. According FloHockey’s mock draft, this will likely be Connor Bedard. The 17-year old played center with the Regina Pats in the 2022-2023 season.  The numbers speak for themselves when looking at his past season performance. 

Racking up 71 goals and 143 points in 57 WHL regular season games, Bedard is the consensus No.1 overall pick. 

The Anaheim Ducks will pick second and are likely to select Michigan Hockey star Adam Fantilli.
