Each week veteran hockey analyst Chris Peters delivers his men's college hockey power rankings. Check back every week to see who's rising, who's falling and where your favorite team might land.

1. Boston College (9-2-1) | Last Week: 2

The Eagles bounced back in a big way, with a 5-4 OT win over UConn before a 3-0 shutout as freshman Jacob Fowler (MTL) picking up his first collegiate shutout with a 31-save effort. BC improved to 4-1-1 in Hockey East. Meanwhile, sophomore Cutter Gauthier (PHI) has 11 goals through the first 12 games this season, making good on raised expectations coming into the season.

2. North Dakota (9-2-1) | Last Week: 5

North Dakota continues impressing this season. A home sweep over Miami kept the Fighting Hawks perfect in the NCHC standings. They'll welcome Bemdiji State for a pair of games this weekend as they look to extend their current winning streak beyond five games. UND has three players averaging a point per game or better -- Jackson Blake (CAR), Riese Gaber, and Owen McLaughlin (PHI).

3. Denver (8-3-1) | Last Week: 3

The Pioneers had a very odd series with Nebraska Omaha as ice issues caused them to have to play the second game over two days. The Pioneers lost that one, 4-3, but took the first game 8-4. Denver has had some defensive concerns over the course of this season, but they seem to often be able to out-score their shortcomings. We'll see if that's a trend that is sustainable.

4. Boston University (8-3-1) | Last Week: 7

Unbeaten in eight of their last nine games, BU is really hitting its stride. A home sweep over the surging Maine Black Bears pushed the Terriers way up the list this week. Led by freshman standout Macklin Celebrini, who is among the NCAA scoring leaders with 22 points in just 11 games, the offense is explosive. Five players are averaging a point per game or better and Celebini is averaging an absurd two points per game.  BU has a big-time showdown Wednesday night with Quinnipiac.

5. Wisconsin (9-3-0) | Last Week: 1

The Badgers had the No. 1 spot, but couldn't keep it as they headed to East Lansing and left on the wrong end of a sweep. Both games were close and the Badgers held their own. It wasn't going to be easy. They've got a pair of home dates against Alaska Anchorage to try to get themselves back on track before getting back to the Big Ten grind.

6. Quinnipiac (9-3-1) | Last Week: 8

The Bobcats are really something. In the midst of a five-game winning streak, they've laid waste to their recent ECAC foes, scoring no less than five goals in any win over the streak. No one has an answer for their best players and that's probably because beyond a great top end of their lineup, QU has depth. Eight players are already in double-digit points including Colin Graf, who is still averaging two points per game with 16 in eight appearances for the Bobcats.

7. Michigan State (10-3-1) | Last Week: 11

A home sweep of then-No. 1 Wisconsin was another feather in Sparty's helmet. Freshman Trey Augustine (DET) has stabalized in net and now has a .913 save percentage after an uneven start. The Spartans have gotten contributions from throughout their lineup, including a productive back end led by Artyom Levshunov with 14 points through his first 14 NCAA games.

8. Providence (8-3-2) | Last Week: 4

The Friars got swept by UMass as their offense sputtered a bit. Providence will spend their Thanksgiving weekend in the sunshine of Arizona as they take on the Sun Devils in what will be a key non-conference series. They'll have to make the most of that one, because Providence will only be playing twice the entire month of December before a very busy January and February.

9. Minnesota (6-4-2) | Last Week: 9

A split with Notre Dame was the latest blow for Minnesota as they can't seem to string together two wins still. The Irish took the first game of the series, while the Gophers battled back to get the second. They're 2-3-1 in the Big Ten now and you have to start to wonder if their ranking is based more on reputation than reality. Yet, this team on paper still has loads of talent. They've got another big challenge this weekend in a home series against Michigan State.

10. Maine (6-3-1) | Last Week: 6

The Black Bears got a dose of reality after getting swept out of Agganis Arena at Boston University last weekend. A humbling result heading into a bye week will allow Maine to get back to business, though. A couple of key Hockey East matchups await as the Black Bears have New Hampshire and UConn at home to kick December off.

11. UMass (8-3-1) | Last Week: 15

Sweeping Providence in a home-and-home series was among the more impressive results for the Minutemen this season. They've now won four of their last five as they head into a non-conference date with Harvard on Friday. Junior defenseman Scott Morrow (CAR) has taken over the team scoring lead with 14 points in 12 games.

12. Arizona State (9-2-1) | Last Week: 13

The Sun Devils have a big challenge ahead with Providence rolling into town, but they continued building some momentum last weekend with a home sweep of Alaska Anchorage. ASU has played only two games away from home so far this season, but will hit the road in a few weeks to meet Colorado College and later in December will see Robert Morris, right here on FloHockey. Regardless of where they're winning, though, they're winning.

13. New Hampshire (6-2-1) | Last Week: 14

The Wildcats picked up a pair of key Hockey East wins, sweeping Northeastern 4-2 and 4-0. Jakob Hellsten was in net for the team's first shutout of the season and he's improved his save percentage to a stunning .951 through five games. Another encouraging sign from UNH? Their scoring is largely coming from freshmen and sophomores, so it looks like the Wildcats are building some sustained success here.

14. Notre Dame (7-4-2) | Last Week: NR

Following up a sweep of Ohio State with a split on the road at Minnesota, the Irish have picked up some clutch results of late. Now they've got a home one-off with No. 1 Boston College, which should be an exciting measuring stick for this team. Graduate goalie Ryan Bischel has been as good as we all expected him to be, posting a .936 save percentage in 13 appearances this year. Meanwhile, senior Landon Slaggert (CHI) is leading the team with nine goals and 13 points.

15. Western Michigan (6-3-1) | Last Week: NR

After a one-week absence, Western is back on the list. The Broncos took two wins from Colorado College on the road to stem a three-game losing streak. CC had been surging a bit this season, but Western Michigan allowed just one goal over the entire weekend. Senior netminder Cam Rowe had some big-timer performances and senior forward Luke Grainger continues scoring at an alarming rate with 19 points in 10 games.

16. Michigan (6-6-2) | Last Week: 12

Michigan is still getting a lot of love for how they look on paper, but another home split, this time to Penn State, doesn't help quiet any doubters. Making matters worse, leading scorer Rutger McGroarty (WPG) went down with an injury. Lucky for the Wolverines, they only have two weeks of hockey left before an extended break in December.

Dropped Out: Cornell, Alaska Fairbanks
