1. Wisconsin (9-1-0) | Last Week: 3
The Badgers are back on top of both major college polls and are here as well with the best record in the nation. Wisconsin was idle last weekend, but faces a major test on the road as they head to East Lansing for a Big Ten series with Michigan State. To see where this team is at this stage under a first-year head coach remains remarkable.

2. Boston College (7-2-1) | Last Week: 2
A winless weekend at Maine staggered the Eagles' hot start to the season and perhaps provided a bit of a wakeup call. A home-and-home series with UConn awaits. Freshman standout Gabe Perreault (NYR) took over the team scoring lead with 15 points including 13 assists, which is tied for best in the NCAA.
3. Denver (7-2-1) | Last Week: 1
A split on the road at Arizona State was not the result the Pioneers were looking for, but more concerning was the fact that they gave up 10 goals over the two games in the series, first in a 6-5 overtime loss and then an 8-4 win. Goal prevention may be a growing concern as the Pios head into the teeth of their conference schedule.
4. Providence (8-1-2) | Last Week: 4
The Friars face a big home-and-home series with UMass this week that should be a good test of their mettle. A sweep in a home-and-home against Northeastern provided yet another example of how difficult Providence is to score on. They're allowing fewer than two goals against per game so far this season, which should be a recipe for success at the more critical moments of the season.
5. North Dakota (7-2-1) | Last Week: 5
North Dakota is answering almost all of the questions we ha about this team coming into the season. The goaltending of transfer Ludvig Persson has been a major difference-maker for this team. He has a .925 save percentage while playing every minute for this team and has already collected two shutouts this season. His performance has taken the burden off of a relatively young blue line.
6. Maine (6-1-1) | Last Week: 12
I've been calling them the Maine "Back" Bears because are they ever back. The unbeaten weekend against Boston College including a 4-2 win in a packed Alfond Arena made it feel like the 1990s had arrived again. Maine is such a historic program and to see them humming again is great for college hockey. The Nadeau brothers have been major difference makers as Bradly (CAR) leads the team in goals and Josh is tied for the team lead in assists.

7. Boston University (6-3-1) | Last Week: 8
The Terriers managed a sweep of UMass-Lowell even though they were without star freshman Macklin Celebrini for the first game. He returned and had four assists the next night and is now tied for the national scoring lead with 18 points. Meanwhile, sophomore defenseman Lane Hutson (MTL), recently featured in this FloHockey Original, is averaging nearly a goal per game with eight through nine games.
8. Quinnipiac (7-3-1) | Last Week: 9
The Bobcats are starting to get on a roll here and that's bad news for the rest of the ECAC. Wins over Brown and Yale with 10 goals scored between the two games made it three straight with five or more goals in the game and five over the course of this season. The scoring has been critical even though QU still plays incredibly tough defensively. It certainly helps to have Collin Graf healthy as he had six points last weekend and is currently averaging two points per game.
9. Minnesota (5-3-2) | Last Week: 7
A win and tie at Michigan should be viewed as a good result for the Gophers, even if they have just one series sweep so far this season. Minnesota is getting really strong goaltending from Justen Close, who has a .919 save percentage while playing all games. The emergence of Brody Lamb (NYR) has also been a very positive trend for this team.
10. Cornell (4-1-1) | Last Week: 6
A winless weekend at home against Dartmouth (tie) and Harvard (loss) tempered the rising expectations for the Big Red. WIth a pair of tough road contests at Quinnipiac and Princeton, Cornell will have to right the ship quickly. They're also staring down a post-Thanksgiving showdown at Madison Square Garden against Boston University. Still, the Big Red have been tough to score against, boasting the lowest goals-against average in the NCAA at 1.3.
Cornell was unreal this weekend! Atmosphere is unmatched. Top 5 place to play college hockey in the country. pic.twitter.com/fxP5CntexE

11. Michigan State (7-3-0) | Last Week: 11
How can you not be excited for a home showdown against No. 1 Wisconsin? The Spartans are coming off of an unbeaten weekend against Penn State with a win and a tie. Now they head into one of the toughest stretches of their schedule while welcoming the top-ranked Badgers this weekend. Isaac Howard (TBL) is leading the team in scoring, but one of the most critical players to this team has been freshman defenseman Artyom Levshunov (2024), who is averaging a point per game.
12. Michigan (5-5-2) | Last Week: 10
The Wolverines lost a heart-breaker to Minnesota in their series opener before rallying for a tie (and shootout win that doesn't count in the national standings) in Game 2. Michigan owns the best power play unit in the country, operating at a staggering 39.2%. Conversely, they have a bottom-10 PK with 73.5% of their disadvantages killed. They're living and dying by special teams, it would seem.
13. Arizona State (7-2-1) | Last Week: 16
The Sun Devils went toe-to-toe with Denver and hung with them, beating them in OT in the first game before dropping an 8-4 decision in the second game. Putting up 10 goals against a top-tier team was certainly eye-opening. Now Arizona State will host Alaska Anchorage for a pair of games in a battle of independents.

14. New Hampshire (4-2-1) | Last Week: 14
UNH was idle last weekend, but faces another big test in a home-and-home series against Northeastern. They built up a lot of momentum earlier in the season and if they can recapture some of that magic, they'll be in great shape going into a post-Thanksgiving non-conference showdown against RIT right here on FloHockey.
15. UMass (6-3-1) | Last Week: 15
Facing a critical series with Providence, UMass appeared to be picking up some steam but lost a little in a 6-2 loss to Vermont. That was one of their worst games of the season, but the expectation is that the Minutemen will have quite a response as that's what they've done after tough losses previously this season.
16. Alaska Fairbanks (6-3-1) | Last Week: NR
After a rocky start to the season amid a very difficult schedule including opening up against Denver, the Nanooks have gotten on a roll. Starting with a 5-2 win at St. Cloud State, Alaska has won five straight games as they head into a series at Northern Michigan, which you can watch right here on FloHockey.
