A native of Wentzville, Missouri, Hawks was a three time All - State wrestler at Wentzville Holt high school. Hawk was a runner up athe NHSCA freshman nationals in 2017, and in 2018 was a double Fargo All - American finishing eighth in freestyle and fifth in greco. That same year Hawk won the folkstyle nationals at 170 pounds. In 2019, Hawk won an NHSCA junior national title before capping things off with a third place finish at the Fargo junior greco nationals.
