It seems like only yesterday that Chicoutimi was hoisting the Gilles-Courteau Trophy, but once Friday rolls around, we’re onto a new season once again. The QMJHL is expected to have an especially exciting campaign ahead with top 2027 NHL Draft prospects, some key returning NHL prospects and a seemingly wide-open field for the title.

Thursday night will mark the opening of a new OHL season and the second campaign in which you can watch every single game on FloHockey. After a thrilling inaugural season on the platform, which saw top prospects flourish and the Kitchener Rangers claim the league title, 2026-27 brings a lot of new faces, new excitement and the same great hockey we’ve come to expect from Ontario’s top junior circuit.

The USHL seasons starts with a bang this week with all 16 teams descending on Chicago for the 2026 USHL Fall Classic. After a decade in Pittsburgh, the league heads to the Blackhawks Community Ice Center in downtown Chicago for its premier showcase as every team will play their first two regular-season games under one roof.

We are one week away from the vast collection of our junior hockey leagues fully kicking off their seasons. The offseason is never particularly long for hockey, but it’s even shorter if you love to follow the junior game like we do.
