The Wheeling Nailers enter the 2026-27 ECHL season with a major change to their development structure. Wheeling begins a new two-year affiliation with the Columbus Blue Jackets and AHL affiliate Cleveland Monsters, creating a Columbus Blue Jackets → Cleveland Monsters → Wheeling Nailers pathway.
The Nailers play at WesBanco Arena and are led by head coach Nate DiCasmirro. They also enter the new partnership after a strong 2025-26 season in which Wheeling went 46-20-3-3 with 98 points and reached the playoffs.
