While some young players are nearing NHL opportunities, others are continuing their development at various levels of the game. As the 2026-27 season approaches, here are three Ducks prospects worth watching.
Roger McQueen Could Be Anaheim's Next Difference-Maker
Roger McQueen remains one of the most intriguing prospects in the Ducks system.
The 6-foot-5 center was selected 10th overall in the 2025 NHL Draft and possesses the size, skill and offensive upside teams covet down the middle. After spending the 2025-26 season at Providence College and appearing with the San Diego Gulls late in the year, McQueen enters the season as one of Anaheim's top prospects.
A strong year could put him firmly in the conversation for NHL minutes sooner rather than later.
Stian Solberg Is Climbing The Organizational Ladder
Defenseman Stian Solberg continues to establish himself as one of the Ducks' most promising blue-line prospects.
The Norwegian defenseman spent the 2025-26 season with the Gulls, gaining valuable experience against professional competition. Known for his physicality and defensive awareness, Solberg also showed flashes of offensive potential as he adjusted to the North American game.
With another season of development, Solberg could position himself for opportunities at the NHL level.
Nathan Gaucher Continues To Progress
Nathan Gaucher remains an important piece of Anaheim's prospect pipeline.
The former first-round pick has steadily developed into a reliable two-way forward while gaining professional experience with the Gulls. His combination of size, defensive responsibility and leadership has kept him among the organization's most closely watched prospects.
As Gaucher continues his development, Ducks fans will be watching to see if he can take another step toward becoming an NHL regular.
