The Utah Mammoth enter 2026-27 with one established minor-league home and an unusual opening in their development system.
The Tucson Roadrunners remain Utah's AHL affiliate and could feature several young players trying to take the next step toward the NHL. Unlike most teams, however, the Mammoth currently do not have an ECHL affiliate listed for the upcoming season.

Here's what Mammoth fans should know about Utah's affiliate system entering 2026-27.
Who Is The Utah Mammoth's AHL Affiliate?
The Tucson Roadrunners are Utah's AHL affiliate and provide the organization's primary development stop below the NHL.
Tucson opens its 72-game season Oct. 3 against the Colorado Eagles at Tucson Arena, marking the Roadrunners' first home season opener since 2018-19.
Head coach Steve Potvin returns behind the bench, while former Roadrunners and Mammoth forward Andrew Agozzino retired this offseason and joined Tucson's staff as an assistant coach.
Why Mammoth Fans Should Watch The Tucson Roadrunners
Utah has several young players who could spend time in Tucson as they develop toward NHL opportunities.
Defenseman Dmitri Simashev showed what that path can look like last season. The No. 6 overall pick in the 2023 NHL Draft recorded 35 points in 40 games for Tucson before putting himself in position to compete for a full-time role with the Mammoth this season.
With Utah training camp beginning Sept. 17, exactly which prospects start in Tucson remains unsettled.
Utah Mammoth Prospects To Watch With Tucson
Michael Hrabal: The 21-year-old goaltender signed his three-year entry-level contract after going 19-9-1 with a 1.95 goals-against average and .937 save percentage at UMass last season. Hrabal reported to Tucson late last season and enters Mammoth training camp competing for his next opportunity.
Max Pšenička: Utah's 2025 second-round pick appeared in two games for Tucson last season and recorded an assist in his AHL debut. The 6-foot-5 defenseman signed a three-year entry-level contract in July after recording 30 points in 53 WHL games for Portland.
Vadim Moroz: Moroz is making the move to North America after recording 29 points in 54 KHL games for Dinamo Minsk last season. The 22-year-old forward is in Mammoth training camp and could become another young player to watch in Utah's professional system.
Yegor Borikov: Borikov also arrives from Dinamo Minsk after recording 30 points in 59 KHL games last season. The young forward is among the prospects competing at Utah's NHL training camp.
Does The Utah Mammoth Have An ECHL Affiliate?
As of the start of Mammoth training camp, Utah does not have an ECHL affiliate listed for 2026-27.
That's a notable change from Utah's first season, when the organization partnered with the Allen Americans. Allen is now affiliated with the Ottawa Senators and Belleville Senators.
What Does That Mean For The Mammoth?
Not having a dedicated ECHL affiliate doesn't prevent Utah from developing players through Tucson, but it does make the Mammoth's setup different from most organizations covered in this series.
The Roadrunners remain the key destination for prospects who aren't yet ready for NHL roles.
Utah also has several players who could graduate beyond Tucson this season. Simashev is pushing toward a full-time Mammoth role, while Tij Iginla and Caleb Desnoyers are among the organization's top young players competing for NHL opportunities.
That makes Tucson especially important as Utah sorts through a deep group of developing talent.
How The Utah Mammoth's Affiliate System Fits Together
For now, the Mammoth's affiliate map is simpler than most.
Tucson serves as Utah's AHL development home, while the organization enters 2026-27 without a dedicated ECHL affiliate.
With Hrabal, Pšenička and several other young players competing for professional roles, the Roadrunners remain the team Mammoth fans should watch for Utah's next wave of NHL talent.
