The surest sign of the start of the hockey season is when NHL teams open their rookie camps. For the last few decades, those camps often conclude with a series of games and tournaments featuring some of the youngest NHL hopefuls taking their first steps into their NHL careers.

This year is no different, with all but three teams participating in some meaningful preseason competition either featuring their drafted, signed and invited prospects.

Many teams will see some of their most promising prospects compete in at least one game with recent draftees such as Gavin McKenna and Ivar Stenberg among those rostered. There will also be some players that already got a small taste of the NHL like Porter Martone who will be getting some early reps in rookie games.

How To Watch NHL Rookie Tournaments

Most NHL prospect tournament games will be freely streamed on NHL team websites and apps. Check your favorite team’s official website to find out if their games will be available. Some games will be subject to regional restrictions.
