It all kicks off on Thanksgiving Day with the top two teams in Sweden's professional league, Frolunda HC taking on Skelleftea AIK in an early afternoon puck drop, 1:00 p.m. ET.
2026 NHL Draft eligible Ivar Stenberg is just one of many players to watch on Thursday, a top prospect on NHL Central Scouting's A-List and the only one from the SHL out of thirteen.

Thursday, Nov. 27 @ 1:00 p.m. ET: Frolunda HC vs Skelleftea AIK (SHL)
The Swedish Hockey League is just one way to follow the best international hockey players this year on FloHockey as we get closer to the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy.
Ivar Stenberg is one player that fans across the world have been following as the clock ticks down towards the 2026 NHL Draft. FloHockey contributor Chris Peters recognized him as a top three prospect earlier this year.
Thursday, Nov. 27 @ 7:00 p.m. ET: North Bay Battalion vs Peterborough Petes (OHL)
Two Eastern Conference OHL teams are set to battle it out in a Thanksgiving evening puck drop featuring the North Bay Battalion and Peterborough Petes. The Petes have hit paydirt, winning eight of their last ten games. A welcome sight after their nightmarish, lowest-in-the-OHL 45 point season last year.
Czech winger Adam Novotny (14g, 12a) has been impossible to ignore, setting teammates up or finding the net on his own in 17 out of their first 24 games.
North Bay has their own weapons, though, in the form of depth—twelve different players have earned double-digit points so far this season. Only four other teams can say the same.
The Battalion also have their own draft-eligible prospects to keep an eye on: Ryder Carey and Parker Vaughan.
Friday, Nov. 28 @ 7:00 p.m. ET: Moncton Wildcats vs Victoriaville Tigres (QMJHL)
Egor Shilov is a 17-year old left-handed center out of Russia that's been on a tear in the Q for the past month, despite the struggling Victoriaville Tigres. His 11 goals and 20 assists have him rising up the ranks as a potential first round pick next summer while leading his team as a rookie.
