Player of the Week

Matt Tugnutt – Sacred Heart

Junior, Forward – Peterborough, ONT/Kemptville 73’s

Matt Tugnutt tallied his first career hat trick as Sacred Heart rallied to tie UConn Saturday night. Tugnutt had goals in both the first and second periods, giving the Pioneers 1-0 and 2-1 leads in the contest. Sacred Heart trailed 3-2 late in the third period, but Tugnutt came through for the Pioneers, completing his hat trick with 3.0 seconds left in regulation to force overtime.

Defensive Player of the Week

Adam Brubacher – RIT

Senior, Defense – Elmira, ONT/Powell River Kings

Brubacher played a key role in RIT's 3-1 win at Colgate University in Saturday's season opener. The senior defenseman recorded a goal and two assists, finished +1 and blocked three shots in the Tigers win at Colgate. He gave RIT a 1-0 lead on his goal 3:11 into the first period. Brubacher added an assist on each of Shawn Cameron's power play goals, including the game-winner at 8:09 of the first period.

Goalie of the Week

Logan Drackett – RIT

Junior, Goalie – Calgary, ALB/Calgary Canucks

Drackett helped RIT to a 3-1 win at Colgate University in the season opener Saturday night. The junior goalie made 33 saves Saturday, including 10 in the third period to secure the victory for the Tigers.

Rookie of the Week

Ashton Stockie – Mercyhurst

Freshman, Forward – Stratford, ONT/North York Rangers

Stockie had a strong debut for Mercyhurst as the Lakers split a pair of road games with #20 Arizona State. He was held off the scoresheet in the season-opening win, but won six faceoffs. In Sunday’s loss, Stockie recorded his first two collegiate points and won another six faceoffs.
