Add another accolade to Cale Makar’s resume.
Just two days after playing in the Frozen Four, Makar made his NHL debut for Colorado and made his presence felt already as he scored his first goal to help power the Avalanche to a dominant 6-2.
The goal, which came about 16 minutes into the game, gave them the 3-0 lead. It also made him the seventh player in NHL history to make his League debut in the Stanley Cup Playoffs and score a goal. But to take it a step further, he’s on a list of his own as the first defensemen to do so.
Only one defenseman in NHL history has made their debut in the #StanleyCup Playoffs and scored... it's @Cmakar16. #NHLFirsts— NHL (@NHL) April 16, 2019
