The Toronto Maple Leafs have won six in a row, Connor Hellebuyck is leading the Jets, and the San Jose offense is the worst in the league.

Hot Topic: Suspensions For Everybody

Department of Player Safety head George Parros had his hands full this week as the cases began to pile up.

Detroit Red Wings forward Luke Witkowski earned a mandatory 10-game suspension for returning to the ice surface after being ejected. Calgary’s Matthew Tkachuk, who garnered a one-game suspension himself, speared Witkowski and incited a game-ending brawl.

Nashville’s Austin Watson was handed a two-game suspension after a check from behind on Colorado’s Dominic Toninato, who had a trip to the “quiet room” before returning to his NHL debut.

Lastly, Philadelphia’s Radko Gudas was suspended 10 games as well. The repeat offender laid a nasty slash to the back of the head of Winnipeg forward Mathieu Perreault.

Star Of The Week: Teuvo Teravainen

4 GP | 5 G | 5 A | 10 pts. | plus-five | 4 power play points

Teravainen and linemate Sebastian Aho tore it up this week as the Carolina Hurricanes began turning possession numbers into goals. The 23-year-old currently sits at a point per game with eight goals and 11 assist through 19 games, well on his way to a career high.

He was acquired from Chicago in 2016 as the Blackhawks needed to dump salary and the Hurricanes took on Bryan Bickell’s contract with Teravainen added to square up the deal.

The 18th overall pick from 2012, Teravainen is showing his upside — along with real chemistry with Aho — and is likely to eclipse his career-highs of 15 goals and 42 points from last season.

AHL Call-Up To Watch: Danger Dan

The San Jose Sharks called up Daniel O’Regan on Saturday, and he recorded an assist that night in his first NHL action of the season. The 2012 fifth-round pick posted 23 goals and a rookie-leading 58 points in 63 games last year with the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda.

O’Regan post a goal in a three-game stint with the big club last season, too. The 23-year-old is undersized at 5-foot-10, but is all skill and has six goals and 12 points in as many games with the Barracuda this season.

He brings a huge offensive upside and will stick around if he can prove to help build momentum for the Sharks, which have the fewest goals-for this season in the NHL with 45.

Fantasy Player To Add

Mattias Ekholm | D | Nashville Predators

A cross-category defenseman with a three-game goal streak, Ekholm is blossoming into yet another fantasy-relevant blue liner for the Predators. He’s been a reliable own-zone defender during his career but is adding offense to his game this season, as he has already eclipsed his goal total from last season and is over halfway to his 2016-17 point mark.

The addition of Kyle Turris and Nick Bonino, along with a soon-to-be scoring Ryan Johansen, offer Ekholm additional sources for accidental points from last year. That’s not to say he doesn’t produce on his own.

Ekholm has four goals and 12 points in 19 games and has another four games on his schedule this week, including a slow Sunday. With an ownership of just 37.2 percent, he’s a reliable addition to your team for your November 20-26 matchup.

Game To Watch

Tampa Bay Lightning at Pittsburgh Penguins

Saturday, Nov. 25, 7 PM EST.

The league’s top team faces off against the back-to-back Stanley Cup Champions in a game that will measure up two elite teams. Tampa Bay, 15-3-2, is the early frontrunner for the 2018 title, and will weigh itself against an 11-8-3 Pittsburgh team off to a sluggish start by its own standards.

Go-to scorers Steven Stamkos and Nikita Kucherov will square off with Phil Kessel and Evgeni Malkin, but the matchup will come down to the depth of each team’s top six.

Sidney Crosby is destined to rebound a slow start, while Brayden Point will look to stay hot as another farm player of Steve Yzerman’s has turned out to be a game-changer.

Injuries: Predators Into Prey

Nashville’s Scott Hartnell will miss the next two to four weeks with a lower-body injury. Yannick Weber (lower-body) will miss one to three weeks.

New York Islanders’ Nikolay Kulemin, who was injured last week, underwent surgery on and will miss the next six months.

Montreal’s Artturi Lehkonen is out indefinitely with an undisclosed injury, which coach Claude Julien labeled as “unbearable.”

Ottawa’s Chris Wideman will be gone for what the team is calling months with a torn hamstring.

New Jersey’s Mirco Mueller underwent surgery to fix a broken collarbone and is out indefinitely.

Winnipeg’s Toby Enstrom will miss the next eight weeks with a lower-body injury unrelated to his previous knee issues.

Colorado’s Vladislav Kamenev is out indefinitely with a broken arm.
