Amongst the headlines were Jayden Perron extended his scoring streak to nine games as Michigan continued their undefeated season with a huge win over No. 5 Western Michigan, 3-2 on Friday night. It was Will Horcoff who secured the win with just .1 remaining on the clock to ignite the crowd at Yost Ice Arena.
Freshman Wyatt Cullen netted a hat trick for Minnesota, sending the Gophers to a back-to-back win over No. 3 North Dakota at a sold out 3M Arena at Mariucci. Cullen's goals dug the Gophers out of a 2-1 hole after they closely escaped with a win the night before.
Army West Point escaped No. 8 Quinnipiac with a late overtime goal, upsetting the 2023 tournament champions.
New Hampshire hosted No. 2 Michigan State, delivering them their first loss with a low-scoring, 1-0 battle that took 51 minutes of play to break. MSU was able to take the win in their second game, though, winning 2-1.
