Here are three Canucks prospects to watch with Abbotsford in 2026-27.

Braeden Cootes, F

Braeden Cootes is one of Vancouver's top prospects entering the season.

The Canucks selected Cootes No. 15 overall in the 2025 NHL Draft, and he got his first taste of the NHL last season with three games for Vancouver.

Cootes later split his WHL season between Seattle and Prince Albert, recording 24 goals and 39 assists for 63 points in 45 regular-season games.

The 19-year-old is competing for an NHL job during training camp, but NHL.com projects him as more likely to begin the season in the AHL.

Adam Novotný, LW/RW

Adam Novotný is one of the young forwards worth watching in the Vancouver Canucks' system.

The Czech winger joined the organization as a first-round pick in the 2026 NHL Draft and gives the Canucks another promising offensive prospect to follow. As he continues his development, Novotný adds to a growing group of young talent working its way through Vancouver's pipeline.

His progression will be worth monitoring as he takes the next steps in his development and works toward future opportunities within the organization.

Sawyer Mynio, D

Sawyer Mynio is officially headed back to Abbotsford after Vancouver assigned him to the AHL this week.

The 21-year-old defenseman recorded three goals and 18 assists for 21 points in 58 games during his first full professional season.

That performance earned Mynio Abbotsford's Rookie of the Year award.

Now entering his second full AHL season, Mynio has an opportunity to build on that debut and continue working toward his first NHL appearance.
