The Seattle Kraken have built a deep prospect pool, and the Coachella Valley Firebirds should once again give fans a chance to watch some of the organization's top young players develop in 2026-27.

With Kraken training camp still underway, exactly where some of Seattle's best prospects begin the season remains to be determined.

Here are three Kraken prospects to watch with Coachella Valley in 2026-27.

Jake O'Brien, F

Jake O'Brien is preparing to make the jump to professional hockey after another huge season in the OHL.

Seattle selected O'Brien No. 8 overall in the 2025 NHL Draft. The 19-year-old center recorded 28 goals and 65 assists for 93 points in 53 games with the Brantford Bulldogs last season.

O'Brien also got his first taste of the AHL during the Calder Cup Playoffs, appearing in four games for Coachella Valley.

He'll compete for a spot in Seattle, but Coachella Valley could be the next step for one of the Kraken's premier prospects.

Oscar Fisker Molgaard, F

Oscar Fisker Molgaard impressed during his first season in North America.

The 2023 second-round pick recorded 10 goals and 24 assists for 34 points in 49 games with Coachella Valley last season. His play also earned him 13 games with Seattle.

The 21-year-old is pushing for a larger NHL role in 2026-27, but he remains a major name to follow if he spends additional time with the Firebirds.

Jani Nyman, F

Jani Nyman has already proven he can score at the AHL level.

Nyman recorded 21 goals and 12 assists for 33 points in just 39 games with Coachella Valley last season while also appearing in 28 games for the Kraken.

The 22-year-old brings size at 6-foot-2 and a dangerous shot. He'll compete for a more permanent NHL role this season, but Nyman would immediately become one of Coachella Valley's biggest offensive threats if he returns to the AHL.
