The Philadelphia Flyers have plenty of young talent pushing toward the NHL, and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms will once again be an important stop in the organization's development pipeline.
Lehigh Valley opens the 2026-27 AHL season Oct. 3 against the Hartford Wolf Pack at PPL Center.

Here are three Flyers prospects to watch with the Phantoms in 2026-27.
Cole Knuble, F
Cole Knuble enters his first full professional season after getting a late look with Lehigh Valley in 2025-26.
The Flyers selected Knuble in the fourth round of the 2023 NHL Draft. He finished his college career at Notre Dame with 90 points in 106 games, including nine goals and 22 assists in 36 games last season.
Knuble signed his entry-level contract in March and joined Lehigh Valley for the end of the season. His ability to play both center and wing gives the Phantoms another versatile young forward to develop.
Spencer Gill, D
Spencer Gill is another intriguing young player entering his first full professional season.
Philadelphia selected the 6-foot-4 defenseman in the second round of the 2024 NHL Draft. Injuries disrupted portions of his final two junior seasons, but Gill finished 2025-26 strongly and enters this season looking to establish himself at the AHL level.
The Flyers remain high on Gill's combination of size, mobility and skill, making his development in Lehigh Valley worth watching.
Alex Ciernik, F
Alex Ciernik is making the move to North America for his first full professional season.
The 2023 fourth-round pick split last season between Lahti Pelicans in Finland and Nybro Vikings in Sweden before signing a three-year entry-level contract with Philadelphia.
Ciernik already has some AHL experience after appearing in three games for Lehigh Valley in 2025. The Flyers assigned him to Phantoms training camp Sept. 19, giving him an opportunity to earn a regular role in 2026-27.
