The Ottawa Senators have several young players pushing toward the NHL, and the Belleville Senators should once again give fans a chance to watch some of the organization's top prospects develop in 2026-27.
Training camp could determine exactly who begins the season in Belleville, but there is plenty of young talent in the mix.

Here are three Ottawa Senators prospects to watch with Belleville this season.
Carter Yakemchuk, D
Carter Yakemchuk enters 2026-27 with a chance to turn a strong rookie season into a permanent NHL opportunity.
The No. 7 overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft recorded 10 goals and 30 assists for 40 points in 54 games with Belleville last season. He also made his NHL debut, producing two points in four regular-season games with Ottawa.
Yakemchuk is competing for an NHL roster spot in training camp. If he returns to Belleville, he'll immediately be one of the AHL team's biggest names to watch.
Kasper Halttunen, RW
Kasper Halttunen is a new addition to the Senators' prospect pool after arriving from the San Jose Sharks organization during the offseason.
The 21-year-old winger recorded 16 goals and 19 assists for 35 points in 69 AHL games last season.
At 6-foot-3, Halttunen brings size and a dangerous shot to Belleville. NHL.com projects him to begin 2026-27 in the AHL, where he could become an important part of the Senators' power play.
Stephen Halliday, C
Stephen Halliday already has experience moving between Belleville and Ottawa.
The 23-year-old center recorded 29 points in 29 games with Belleville last season, including 27 assists. He also played 30 NHL games for Ottawa and finished with four goals and seven assists.
Halliday is competing for a full-time NHL job during training camp. If he spends additional time in Belleville, his playmaking ability makes him one of the most accomplished young forwards on the roster.
