It’s a brand-new season in the QMJHL and the excitement is palpable. Things get rolling Friday night with a robust eight-game slate starting at 5:30 p.m. ET in Newfoundland as the Regiment host the Saint John Sea Dogs.

Expectations are sky high for the Q this season with some intriguing draft-eligible players, a few loaded rosters and the same classic junior hockey action you’ve come to know from one of the world’s premier U20 leagues.

On opening night, we’ll get things going early with a very exciting debut game with Newfoundland hosting Saint John. The game will feature three especially intriguing 2027 NHL Draft talents with Saint John bringing Alexis Joseph and Jamie Glance and the Regiment countering with Benjamin Veitch. 

Thirty minutes later, the Cape Breton Eagles host the Halifax Mooseheads with many tabbing the Eagles as the QMJHL’s top team thanks to some aggressive offseason work. Meanwhile, at 7 p.m., the Chicoutimi Saguenéens will raise their QMJHL championship banner, celebrating their first league title in 32 years.

It is an absolutely loaded slate to kick off the season with 18 games between Friday and Sunday.
