Here's FloHockey's Chris Peters' analysis on the Utah Mammoth taking Ethan Belchetz with the No. 17 overall pick.

Scouting Report

An injury shortened Belchetz’s season, but not before he put up 34 goals in 57 games. He averaged better than a point per game and improved from his rookie total by 21 points. Belchetz has so many tools and an ideal size profile. Belchetz has good hand skills and can really finish with a high-end shot. He hits, he will drop the gloves and when he plays with aggression, his game actually seems to be even better. 

Belchetz is not an amazing skater, which puts some limitations on him. I also think sometimes he plays the game a little too predictably and needs to play with more feel and creativity to get the most out of that incredible size and skill combination he has. I think the ceiling is pretty high and if he can add a gear to his skating, he has a chance to be an impressive player.
