For the fourth consecutive game, the Carolina Hurricanes and the Las Vegas Golden Knights produced a fantastic game, with the Hurricanes edging out a 5-3 win with an empty netter being the decider with under a minute left.

Hurricanes captain Jordan Staal continued his dominant NHL playoffs and Stanley Cup Finals series. He scored two goals for Carolina, as the Hurricanes pounded the zone against a reeling Carter Hart.
The Golden Knights continued to fight, coming back down 2-0 in the first period to tie the game at 2-2 and eventually at 3-3. Carolina's offense ended up being too potent and first-time NHL playoff and former AHL goalie Brandon Bussi made crucial saves late to keep the Knights at bay.
The series now heads to the Lenovo Center in Raleigh, North Carolina, with the Hurricanes looking to take a 3-2 series with their home crowd watching.

A late empty netter from Nikolaj Ehlers seals the game for the Carolina Hurricanes who are now im prime position to take control of the series as it heads back to the Lenovo Center.
The decision to start Brandon Bussi at goalie pays off for the Hurricanes, as the rookie made multiple crucial saves late in the game to push the Hurricanes over the hump.

Carolina Scores the Empty Net Goal From Nikolaj Ehlers - 54.8 3rd - 10:51 p.m. ET

Nikolaj Ehlers bounces the puck off the boards and goes down the ice into the goal to all but give the Hurricanes Game 4. Another great Stanley Cup Finals game is taken by Carolina.
It's the first game of the series decided by more than one goal. Carolina will head back home with the chance to take a lead for the first time in the series.

The Golden Knights will move to an empty net and take Carter Hart out of the game. Vegas uses their timeout to organize a look to tie up the game with just under two minutes to go.

Carter Hart blocked the initial shot from Seth Jarvis, but Jarvis got the puck to Staal off the ricochet, leading to the Hurricanes lead with 13 minutes to go in the game.

Carolina Called For Penalty, Vegas With Chance for First Lead - 18:18 3rd - 10:20 p.m. ET

K'Andre Miller is called for a tripping penalty and the Hurricanes will have to kill the power play early in the third period. With a Golden Knights goal, they'll take their first lead of the game.
Vegas has struggled scoring on the power play throughout the series, with just one power play leading to a goal through four games.

The Chicago Wolves enter the 2026 Calder Cup Finals after an impressive playoff run through the Western Conference. The Carolina Hurricanes affiliate opened the postseason by eliminating the Texas Stars in five games before knocking off the Central Division champion Grand Rapids Griffin.
Chicago then survived a hard-fought seven games against the Colorado Eagles in the conference final. Led by a mix of experienced veterans and Carolina Hurricanes prospects such as Ryan Suzuki and Bradly Nadeau, the Wolves are looking to win their fourth Calder Cup Final.
