The Winnipeg Jets (35-35-12) enter the 2026 NHL Draft after missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs and finishing seventh in the Central Division. 

Winnipeg scored 231 goals and allowed 260 during the regular season, ending the year with an even .500 points percentage and a minus-29 goal differential.

The Jets now head into Buffalo with a top-10 selection and another opportunity to strengthen a prospect pool that has produced much of the organization’s core over the last decade. 

Winnipeg drafted Mark Scheifele in 2011, Connor Hellebuyck in 2012, Josh Morrissey in 2013 and Kyle Connor in 2015, building many of the players who helped keep the franchise competitive for years.

Recent drafts have continued adding high-end talent. Winnipeg selected Rutger McGroarty and Brad Lambert in 2022 before drafting Colby Barlow in 2023. The Jets followed that by selecting defenseman Sascha Boumedienne in the first round of the 2025 NHL Draft.

The Winnipeg Jets currently hold the No. 8 overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.

Winnipeg’s draft position was finalized after the Jets missed the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a 35-35-12 record. The Jets also traded their 2026 second-round pick to the Pittsburgh Penguins in the Luke Schenn trade completed March 7, 2025.

The Winnipeg Jets are projected to select Daxon Rudolph in the 2026 NHL Draft.
