One of the most prestigious elite minor hockey tournaments anywhere in the world will reach its conclusion Saturday as the Toronto Jr. Canadiens will take on Detroit HoneyBaked in the OHL Cup Final. The tournament, which is a showcase event for top U16 players on teams from Ontario and the United States, has long been a proving ground for some of the very best players in the age group anywhere in the world. Alumni of this event include Connor McDavid, Jack Hughes, Matthew Schaefer and many more NHL stars.

Saturday’s finale will feature a cross-border battle for the first time. Detroit HoneyBaked, which entered the tournament as the No. 1 ranked squad, is the first U.S.-based team to make the final at the OHL Cup.
Awaiting them will be a Toronto Jr. Canadiens squad that features one of the most exciting prospects in the tournament – 15-year-old Round Rock, Texas native Kade O’Rourke. The underager has been rumored to be in line to earn exceptional status to enter the OHL Draft a year early.
O’Rourke scored the winning goal for the Jr. Canadiens in their semifinal matchup to punch their ticket to the final.

Both teams have won all six of their games at the event and will now get one more crack at ending their seasons with a coveted trophy.

The OHL Cup Final will be played Saturday, April 4 at the Mattamy Athletic Center in Toronto. Puck drop is set for 2 p.m. ET.
