Denver Blanks Cornell 5-0, Advances To Loveland Regional Final

Denver beat Cornell 5-0 in the Loveland Regional behind goals in every period and now moves on to face Western Michigan with a Frozen Four berth at stake.

Denver advanced to the Loveland Regional final with a 5-0 win over Cornell on Friday night at Blue Arena. 

The Pioneers built their lead in every period and will now face Western Michigan with a Frozen Four berth on the line.

Jake Fisher and Kieran Cebrian scored in the first period to put Denver in control early. Sam Harris added another in the second, and Clarke Caswell helped the Pioneers pull away before Rieger Lorenz capped the night with an empty-net goal in the third. 

Denver carried play for long stretches, outshot Cornell 30-24, and moved on to face Western Michigan in the regional final.

Denver slowly but surely put away Cornell, scoring two goals in the first, one in the second and another two goals in the third period.

As Cornell's season ends, the Pios have set up a date with Western Michigan in the Loveland Regional Final.

Cornell pulled the goalie and Denver go up by five.

Game has been a little chippy in the last few minutes, but not much else going on. Denver seem happy to run this game out and match up against Western Michigan. 

Cornell just have not been able to put any offense together.

The Pios are holding onto a 2-0 lead. In spite of the scoring gap, this is actually a very well evenly-matched game. Cornell has had chanced, and just haven't been able to capitalize.
