World Cup Of Hockey Brings International Rivalry to Prague, Alberta In 2028
After the first day of National Hockey League's General Manager Meetings, the league announced the locations for the best-on-best series for February 2028.

The World Cup of Hockey is heading to Calgary, Edmonton, and Prague in 2028 for an 8-team best-on-best tournament in Czech Republic and Alberta, a major center of gravity for the sport in Canada.
In the shadow of the exhilarating 4 Nations Face-Off and most-watched Winter Olympics in history, the National Hockey League (NHL) announced their plans for the World Cup of Hockey on Monday, March 16 after a morning in General Managers meetings.
An international hockey tournament first inaugurated in 1996, the World Cup of Hockey is an irregularly held series of games organized by the National Hockey League and NHL Players Association.

Opening round play will be split between two venues Scotia Place and O2 Arena.
The new Scotia Place is currently under construction and the future home of the Calgary Flames. Prague's O2 Arena, the third-largest of its kind in Europe and home of the HC Sparta Prague, will host the other opening round games.
World Cup semifinals and final will be played at Rogers Place in Edmonton.
Canada won the last two World Cups while USA took the inaugural in 1996.
