Who Will Top The 100-Point Mark In The QMJHL This Season?

With under 30 games remaining, Veilleux, Coursol, and Lacerte lead the QMJHL 100-point chase, while Massé, Larose, and Carbonneau remain players to watch.

As the regular season heads into its final stretch, the race toward the 100-point milestone is taking on a particularly compelling dimension in the QMJHL. With roughly 30 games remaining, several players are still mathematically in the hunt, but only a few are maintaining a pace truly compatible with reaching the mark.

It’s worth noting that the QMJHL has played on a 68-game schedule since 2008–09, making the 100-point threshold a challenging target for over 15 years. This season is not an exception — it’s simply another year where only elite players can realistically hope to achieve it.

Since the 2020–21 season (shortened due to the pandemic), at least one player has reached the milestone every year. In a full season, the last time the league’s top scorer remained under 100 points was in 2009–10, when Sean Couturier shared the scoring title with Nicolas Deschamps at 96 points.

The question is simple: who will keep this tradition alive this season?

Three Players On Pace For 100+

Philippe Veilleux – Val-d’Or

67 points in 41 games (1.63 PPG) – 27 games remaining

 Projected Total: 111 points

Veilleux remains the league’s offensive benchmark. Even with a negative plus-minus, he consistently drives the attack. After an 87-point campaign in 2024–25, he is on pace to set new personal highs. If any player has a comfortable margin in this race, it’s him.

Maxime Coursol – Val-d’Or

59 points in 37 games (1.60 PPG) – 27 games remaining

 Projected Total: 102 points

Coursol is enjoying the best season of his career. His points-per-game rate is the highest among this group, and he is thriving in his expanded offensive role with the Foreurs. If he keeps up his pace, Val-d’Or could feature two 100-point players, a rare scenario in the QMJHL.

Félix Lacerte – Shawinigan

61 points in 41 games (1.49 PPG) – 27 games remaining

 Projected Total: 101 points

After a 79-point season last year, Lacerte has elevated his game. His offensive volume and power-play usage give him a real chance to surpass 100 points. He is the cornerstone of the Cataractes’ offense, and Shawinigan will rely on him heavily down the stretch.

Chasing 100

Maxim Massé – Chicoutimi

61 points in 41 games (1.49 PPG) – 26 games remaining

 Projected Total: 99 points

As the league’s leading goal scorer with 33 goals, Massé is Chicoutimi’s top offensive threat. His +31 rating and ability to produce without relying on the power play make him one of the most complete forwards in the league. He’s just shy of the pace needed for 100 points — a small offensive surge could make all the difference.

Justin Larose – Newfoundland

62 points in 42 games (1.48 PPG) – 26 games remaining

 Projected Total: 100 points

Larose continues to be the Regiment’s driving force. After an 80-point season in 2023–24, he is even more productive this year. To reach 100 points, he will need a strong finish to the season. Larose even told me in December that hitting the 100-point mark was among his goals before the season ends.

Players to Watch

Justin Carbonneau – Blainville-Boisbriand

49 points in 37 games (1.32 PPG) – 27 games remaining

Carbonneau is not currently on pace for 100 points, but his situation could evolve. Recent returns to the lineup have added offensive depth to the Armada, potentially freeing up more space for the 32-goal sniper. If he benefits from a more offensive environment, his scoring rate could rise significantly down the stretch.

Honorable Mention: Tommy Bleyl – Moncton (D)

48 points in 39 games (1.23 PPG) – 28 games remaining

Reaching 100 points is unrealistic for a defenseman, but Bleyl’s season deserves special recognition. In his first QMJHL campaign, the Michigan State commit boasts a +36 rating and produces like a true power-play quarterback. Few defensemen have that kind of two-way impact.

A Race That Could Become Historic

In 2022–23, no fewer than six players cracked the 100-point mark, led by Jordan Dumais’ 140-point season. Two years later, the picture is far tighter.

At this pace, Veilleux, Coursol, and Lacerte are the only players truly in control of their destiny. Massé and Larose remain in the hunt, while Carbonneau could become a key X-factor if his offensive environment continues to improve.

If no one reaches 100 points, the QMJHL would experience its first full season without a 100-point scorer since 2009–10.

With roughly 30 games remaining, this race is shaping up to be one of the most compelling storylines of the junior hockey spring.
