Allan had been with the Rockford IceHogs for his third pro season and had 2-4-6 in 29 games. Chicago had selected him 32nd overall in the 2021 NHL Draft, and he had played 43 games last season with the Blackhawks. However, he found himself pushed off the Chicago roster and back in Rockford this season.

The Sharks have not yet announced whether Allan will be assigned to the San Jose Barracuda. Their AHL affiliate, tied for second place in the Pacific Division at 19-11-1-2, is back in action Saturday night at home against the Bakersfield Condors.
Brossoit, 32, has battled knee and hip problems and missed the entire 2024-25 season. He made his season debut Dec. 5 on a conditioning assignment with Rockford and later cleared waivers. His six games with the IceHogs saw him go 3-3-0 | 3.38 | .901. However, he has played 140 NHL games with the Edmonton Oilers, Vegas Golden Knights, Winnipeg Jets, and Chicago and also has made 173 career AHL appearances.

In acquiring Brossoit, the Sharks have added significant goaltending experience to their organizational depth chart. While the Barracuda have themselves fighting for first place in the Pacific Division, they have struggled in net at times this season. Jakub Skarek, an offseason addition from the Bridgeport Islanders, is 11-5-0 | 3.00 | .894 in 16 games. Gabriele Carriere has made 18 appearances and is 8-6-3 | 2.75 | .894.
Furlong had been limited to 12 games this season with the Barracuda after playing 66 games last season as a rookie. The 21-year-old went to the Sharks as a 2022 fifth-round selection. Ellis, 35, has not played since the 2021-22 season.
