The hockey being played at the 2026 World Junior Championships is as strong as ever and the semi-finals were nothing short of absolute perfection for hockey fans!

With action starting on Dec. 26 and spanning all the way to Jan. 5, 10 teams have taken to the ice to prove who is the best in the world at junior hockey. For these two teams in the gold-medal match, the path to the final game has not been easy. 

From games heading in to shootouts, and a major upset, the stage is set for the ultimate prize, the gold medal game.

Sweden and Czechia will square off on the ice on Jan.5 for the chance to head back to their country as a World Junior Champion. 

In their path to the gold-medal game, Sweden faced tough opponents but prevailed in the end. Team Sweden bested Latvia, 6-3, to advance to the semi-finals and then bested Finland, 4-3, on Jan. 4 in a game that ended in a shootout. 

For Team Czechia, the path has been just as difficult. This team makes it to the gold-medal game by besting Switzerland, 6-2 in the quarterfinals and the pulling a major upset and besting Canada, 6-4 in the semi-finals. 

With momentums at an all-time high, hockey fan's aren't going to want to miss this one! Here's how to watch.
