Hockey Canada Apologizes For Skipping Post-Game Handshakes With Czechs
Hockey Canada apologized after skipping postgame handshakes following a 7-5 win over Czechia in the World Juniors opener on Friday, Dec. 26.

Hockey Canada issued an apology on social media after skipping the postgame handshake line following a 7-5 win over Czechia in Friday's World Juniors opener.
In a statement posted on X, Hockey Canada said the team “skated off the ice before shaking hands with Czechia” and apologized to the Czech Ice Hockey Association and the IIHF for the “mistake.”

Canada is scheduled to play Latvia on Saturday, Dec. 27 before facing Denmark and Finland before the New Year.
