Rockford IceHogs Stun Texas Stars 4-3 in OT After Third-Period Comeback
Rockford storms back from a 2–0 deficit to beat Texas 4–3 in overtime, with Nick Lardis leading the rally and Aidan Thompson netting the OT winner.

The Rockford IceHogs rallied from a 2-0 deficit to stun the Texas Stars 4-3 in overtime.
The Nov. 21 win in Cedar Park, Texas comes after falling to the Stars in a shootout just days earlier. In that previous matchup, Rockford built a 2-0 lead before Texas stormed back and stole the game, setting up a tense and emotional rematch.
This time, the script completely flipped. Texas jumped ahead 2–0 through Antonio Stranges and Curtis McKenzie, carrying the momentum into the third period.

But Nick Lardis ignited the IceHogs’ rally, scoring twice—first on a power play to get Rockford on the board, then again eight seconds into another man advantage to tie it. Artem Shlaine delivered a shorthanded strike to give Rockford its first lead, though Texas clawed back with a late equalizer in a crease scramble.
In overtime, Aidan Thompson sealed the comeback at 2:23, securing Rockford’s fourth OT win of the season and capping a thrilling response to last weekend’s collapse.
