The Texas Stars and the Rockford IceHogs have already seen each other twice in the 2025 season, so this matchup is one of familiarity and high stakes as the season series is tied at 1-1.  

Each teams have had success so far in the 2025 season and their are key players that can be traced back to the positive points for these two teams. So without further ado, here are the eight players to keep an eye on in the Texas Stars vs. Rockford IceHogs.

Forward - Cameron Hughes

Starting things off with the forward who secured the victory goal for the Stars in the most recent matchup against the IceHogs. Cameron Hughes scored the shootout goal for the Texas Stars in the contest against the IceHogs on Nov. 16.

The forward has appeared in 13 games in the 2025 season and has accumulated one goal and six assists for a total of seven points on the season. Hughes also has eight penalty minutes on the season. 

Forward - Ayrton Martino

The second player Texas Stars fans should keep an eye on is Ayrton Martino. Martino has played in nine games on the season and has one goal and three assists for four points. 

The forward has recorded zero penalty minutes on the 2025 season as well. 

Forward - Artem Shlaine

The final forward that Stars fan should be excited about is Artem Shlaine. Shlaine has played in 13 games and during his time on ice has produced three goald and one assist for a total of four points. 

The forward has four penalty minutes on the season. 

Defenseman - Trey Taylor 

The fourth and final player on the Stars watchlist is defenseman Trey Taylor. Taylor has played in 12 games in the 2025 season. During his time on ice, he has scored two goals and has picked up two assists for a total of four points. 

The defenseman has six penalty minutes and a shooting percentage of 13.3. 

Rockford IceHogs Players To Watch

Just like the home team, the visiting IceHogs get some love as well! Here are four players fans should keep their eyes on for Rockford. 

Forward - Nick Lardis

Leading things off for the IceHogs is forward Nick Lardis. While it is still uncertain if Lardis will be on the ice or not in the matchup against the Stars, the forward has made an impact on the ice in the 2025 season. 

The forward has played in 15 games this season and during his time on ice has racked up five goals and nine assists for 14 points. Lardis has four penalty minutes on the 2025 season. 

Forward - Marcel Marcel

Next up is the IceHog who name is so great he had to do it right, forward Marcel Marcel. The forward has played in eight games in the 2025 season and has one goal for one point attributed to his stat sheet. 

Marcel has picked up two penalty minutes during the season. 

Forward - Brett Seney

The final forward Rockford fans should watch. out for is Brett Seney. Seney has been a major contributor to the IceHogs in the 2025-26 season with 17 games played so far. 

The forward has four goals and 14 assists for 18 points on the season. Seney also has picked up 33 penalty minutes on the season. 

Defenseman - Kevin Korchinski

The final player to watch for in this AHL matchup is defenseman Kevin Korchinski. The defenseman has appeared in 16 games in the 2025-26 season. 

Korchinski has tallied 10 assists for 10 points and has accumulated 20 penalty minutes.
