AHA Men's Notes: Trio Of Conference Matchups, Pair Of Big Ten Foes On Tap
Three AHA series highlight the schedule this weekend while Sacred Heart heads to No. 14 Ohio State and Robert Morris plays at Notre Dame.

It’s another busy week in Atlantic Hockey and all nine teams will hit the ice, including a trio of conference matchups.
Here’s what fans can watch for this weekend in AHA men’s hockey.
Zacher Leads The Way
Walter Zacher netted three goals and added an assist last weekend as the Golden Griffins earned a split at Colgate. Zacher has scored in four straight games and owns a team-leading six on the season, and his eight points rank second on the Canisius roster.
Those six goals lead all AHA skaters, while his eight points rank second, trailing only teammate Grant Porter (10).

The junior forward is seven games into his first season in Buffalo after spending two years at Robert Morris. Zacher had 46 points over his 68 games with the Colonials, including a 15-9-24 line last winter.
He and the Golden Griffins are 5-2-0 to start the season and won their lone AHA contest at Army last week. They’ll return to conference action this weekend at Bentley.
Air Force & Bentley To Join AHA Fun
Two more teams will make their season conference debut this weekend as Air Force and Bentley will play their first AHA games. Bentley hosts Canisius for a pair of games while Air Force heads to RIT.
Air Force was tabbed sixth in the AHA Preseason Poll and is off to a 1-2-1 start this season, while Bentley came in third and is 0-3-0. The two clubs finished last season seventh and third respectively in the AHA standings.
Army hosts Holy Cross in the other AHA matchup this weekend. All six games will be available here on Flo.

Pioneers, Colonials Prepare For B1G Tests
While much of the focus resides on the three conference matchups, Sacred Heart and Robert Morris will face Big Ten foes. Sacred Heart heads to No. 14 Ohio State, while Robert Morris plays at Notre Dame.
The Pioneers opened their season with a sweep at RIT and were receiving votes in the USCHO poll. However, SHU suffered a 3-2 loss to Stonehill last Saturday, zapping much of that momentum. Ohio State swept the lone series between the two schools during the 2004-05 season.
As for Robert Morris, it’s the second consecutive trip to a Big Ten school. RMU was swept in Ann Arbor last weekend, falling 4-2 and 10-2 in the two contests. The Colonials held 1-0 and 2-1 leads in Friday’s contest, and were tied for much of the third period. Charlie Schenkel made 35 saves in the loss.
RMU is 1-1-0 all-time against Notre Dame. Friday’s game will be the first since Jan. 7, 2007 – which RMU won, 4-2.
Men's Notes

- Clark currently leads NCAA goaltenders with 179 saves, and his .932 save percentage ranks 16th.
- Niagara will host the NTDP U18 team for an exhibition contest on Friday. Niagara (3-2-0) was swept at Union last weekend.
- Sacred Heart is one of three NCAA teams with a perfect penalty kill. The Pioneers are 10-for-10 to open the season.
- Mercyhurst hosts UMass-Lowell this weekend in Erie. The Lakers are still searching for their first win of the season.
