NHL Games Today: Why Aren't There Any Games On Friday, Oct. 10?
The NHL schedule has a gap on Friday night, October 10. Watch the AHL opening night on FloHockey instead.

The 2025-26 National Hockey League regular season is finally here, and after three days of exciting action—there's an unexpected lull in the schedule.
The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun noted on X that the league's busy schedule on Thursday night and Saturday led to the unfortunate result in empty arenas across North America on Friday, October 10.

Despite the NHL's one-day lull, however, professional hockey play continues with the opening night of the American Hockey League taking place on FloHockey.
Fear not, though, as there is an NHL game scheduled for every single day through the break for the Winter Olympics on February 6, minus three days: November 27 and December 24-25 for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
FloHockey broadcasts all of the AHL and ECHL action, as well as providing analysis and highlights on the top NHL prospects all season long.
No NHL games tonight. Between 28 teams playing last night and all 32 teams playing Saturday, Friday got squeezed. Not ideal obviously.
