The Calgary Wranglers are one of the newest teams in the AHL, as the AHL affiliate of the Calgary Flames began play in Calgary in 2022. 

The franchise previously played as the Stockton Heat before being relocated to Calgary. In their first season, the Wranglers won the Pacific division, reaching the third round of the Calder Cup playoffs.

At the end of the 2024 season, the Wranglers took the brunt of the Flames’ rebuild, seeing most of their players called up to the NHL full time. After missing the playoffs in 2025, the Wranglers are looking to rebuild and make it back to the Calder Cup Playoffs in 2026.
