The Ontario Hockey League is on FloHockey next year and we couldn’t be more excited to see so many future stars of the game on our platform. To help get you ready, veteran prospects analyst Chris Peters shared some of the prospects he’s most excited to watch in the OHL next season.

We are just a few short weeks away from the start of the 2025-26 season, so here’s a look at just a few of the players you’ll be able to watch all season long with a FloHockey subscription.

Jake O’Brien, C, Brantford Bulldogs (SEA)

O’Brien was picked eighth overall by the Seattle Kraken and while he’ll likely spend time in Seattle’s camp, it is expected that he will return to the Bulldogs. He was recently named the team’s captain and can build off of his sensational draft season.

O’Brien is remarkably skilled with the puck on his stick, as highlighted by the 98 points he scored last season in 66 games with Brantford. He already has 162 career points in just two seasons in the league, making him one of the OHL’s most consistent producers among his age group in that span. Look for him to have a massive season, possibly even pushing for a scoring title.

Kashawn Aitcheson, D, Barrie Colts (NYI)

One of the most feared hitters is also one of the OHL’s most lethal goal scorers from the blue line. Aitcheson was picked 17th overall by the New York Islanders, as part of what could be one of the most significant draft hauls in recent memory for the Isles. He’ll one day join No. 1 overall pick Matthew Schaefer patrolling the blue line on Long Island, but this season he is expected to be a force for the Barrie Colts.

Aitcheson had a remarkable draft season with 32 total goals between the regular season and playoffs this past season. He also has been known to deliver some absolutely bone-crunching hits and isn’t afraid to drop the gloves either. That combination of skill and toughness makes Aitcheson one of the league’s most exciting players to watch.

Simon Wang, D, Oshawa Generals (SJS)

If there’s a player that should be viewed as a potential breakout candidate, it’s Wang. The 6-foot-6 blueliner born in Beijing appeared in 32 games with Oshawa last season after the NCAA changed its rules to allow CHL players. The Boston University commit had just two assists as he tried to find his legs in the league during the regular season. But the upside on the massive Chinese blueliner made him the first pick of the second round in June.

He was a much more offensive player in the OJHL before making the jump to Oshawa and my belief is he will find that game more this season. Watching where he takes things from here will be fascinating to watch.

Brady Martin, C, Soo Greyhounds (NSH)

The hard-hitting Martin was picked fifth overall and there may be a chance for him to make the Nashville Predators out of training camp. If he does return, however, Martin could be one of the more thrilling players to watch in the O this season. In addition to his crunching hits, Martin can score. He put up 33 goals and 72 points last season before going and registering 11 points in seven games to help Canada win gold at the World Under-18 Championship.

Liam Greentree, RW, Windsor Spitfires (LAK)

A The 6-foot-3 winger with deft hands that he used to score 49 goals and 119 points last season, Greentree will be one of the top returning scorers in the OHL next season – unless he makes the Los Angeles Kings out of camp, that is. The Spitfires captain was especially dominant during the playoffs, registering an astonishing 24 points in 11 games for the Spits. He’ll have a strong chance to make Canada’s World Junior team this year, but first Windsor will have to see how his NHL training camp goes.

Jack Nesbitt, C, Windsor Spitfires (PHI)

Selected 12th overall by the Philadelphia Flyers, who traded up to get him, Nesbitt is expected to be back in the league for his third OHL campaign. The expectations will be huge for a player who brings a rather large frame to the ice with him, checking in at 6-foot-5 with room to fill out. He had 25 goals and 64 points last season for the Spits, then helped Canada win gold at the U18 World Championship in the Spring.

Jack Pridham, RW, Kitchener Rangers (CHI)

After joining the Kitchener Rangers early into the 2024-25 season, Pridham made an instant impact. He posted 54 points in 48 games and registered another 13 in 16 playoff games. Drafted in the third round by the Chicago Blackhawks in 2024, Pridham opted to return to Kitchener this season instead of attending Boston University as previously planned. He could be a major factor in Kitchener’s season.

Carter George, G, Owen Sound Attack (LAK)

One of the top goalie prospects in the game today and a leading candidate to be Team Canada’s No. 1 goalie at the 2026 World Juniors, George is likely to return to Owen Sound after Los Angeles Kings training camp. The 6-foot-1 netminder has overcome doubts about his size in an era of bigger goalies by playing at a high level in the OHL. Last season he appeared in 47 games, registering a .909 save percentage. He also was Canada’s No. 1 goalie at the 2025 WJC, posting a .936 save percentage in four starts. George was selected in the second round in 2024 and also had a taste of pro hockey in the OHL late last season, winning both of his starts and earning a shutout in his first professional start.

Cole Beaudoin, C, Barrie Colts (UTA)

A two-way center with some power elements in his game, Beaudoin is another big-time candidate for Team Canada’s World Junior roster after making the team last season. The 6-foot-2 forward had 51 points in 52 games for Barrie last year. Assuming he returns from Utah Mammoth training camp, he will enter his fourth season in the OHL looking to build on his 133 career points in the league.

Jacob Battaglia, LW, Kingston Frontenacs (CGY)

One of the top returning scorers from last season, Battaglia is likely headed back to Kingston where he could be among the OHL’s most dominant scorers this season. The 2024 second-round pick scored 40 goals last year and posted a career-best 90 points, which was the 11th highest total in the league last season.

Alexei Medvedev, G, London Knights (VAN)

Though he played just 34 games last year and none in the playoffs, NHL teams saw more than enough for Medvedev to be a top-50 pick in the NHL Draft. Selected by the Vancouver Canucks 47th overall, Medvedev is going to have a lot more of London’s net this season. When you consider Medvedev was one of the youngest players eligible for last summer’s NHL draft, the runway and upside on this goalie is really special. The 17-year-old Russian will turn 18 just before the season begins and got a front-row seat to London’s magical run to the J. Ross Robertson Cup and Memorial Cup. It should be a lot of fun to see how he looks with more reps this season considering how much belief NHL teams had in him.

Cameron Reid, D, Kitchener Rangers (NSH)

A somewhat late riser in last year’s NHL Draft, Reid went 21st overall to the Nashville Predators. The left-shot puck-moving defenseman put up 54 points in 67 games last season and earned himself an invite to this summer’s Team Canada World Junior camp. Reid had a fairly significant level-jump more than doubling his rookie point total in his second season. Another year leading the blue line in Kitchener will go a long way for him.

Ben Danford, D, Oshawa Generals (TOR)

Being a Maple Leafs draft pick playing in Ontario always brings a spotlight, especially when you’re a first-round pick as Danford was in 2024. Danford saw his point totals dip slightly last year, but one would expect a rebound this season. The 6-foot-2 right-shot defenseman is better known for his defensive prowess and character though. He was Oshawa’s captain last season and will be a candidate to make Canada’s World Junior team this year.
