Anton Frondell: What To Know About 2025 NHL Draft Prospect
Anton Frondell is almost guaranteed as a top-five pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, here's three things to know about the Swedish prospect.

A Swedish centre, Anton Frondell is expected to be a top-five pick in the 2025 NHL Draft and is described by his teammates as a tank on the ice with a shot like a missile. The 18 year old has a huge upside, but lacks experience in comparison to the other top prospects, something teams could view as a negative.

Still, Frondell is expected to be one of the first names off the board. Here’s three things to know about the Swedish prospect.
The Anton Frondell Is The Full Package
One of the main upsides to Frondell is his superb puck handling skills. Like any other prospect, he’s the full package, but what sets him apart is his well-rounded frame and playmaking ability.
He’s 6-foot-1 and 200 pounds, and has exceptional strength, allowing him to keep his feet on the ice and knock down shots, powerful shots, from anywhere. His movement off the puck is also a huge upside to his game, as when he isn’t shooting, he’s finding ways to get open to help his teammates or make plays himself.
One Year Left For Anton Frondell
While entering the NHL Draft, Frondell still has one year left on his contract with Swedish side Djurgårdens, and some scouts believe that one more year could benefit his development. Despite this, he’s still a highly-touted prospect in the 2025 Draft and has several current NHL players singing his praises.
In 2025, he played in 29 games, scoring 11 goals and recording 25 points.
Anton Frondell Returns From Injury
Frondell missed the first half of the season for Djurgårdens due to being injured, and responded well after adjusting back into playing. At one point, he went on a tear, recording 21 points in 12 games, proving that when healthy he can be an explosive player for any team.
There are some questions about his fitness, despite him excelling in the anerobic parts of the NHL Draft Combine, he often looked tired late into shifts and games.
