The Abbotsford Canucks are Calder Cup champions for the first time in franchise history, defeating the Charlotte Checkers 3-2 in Game 6. 

Linus Karlsson scored the game-winner late in the second period, and goaltender Artūrs Šilovs stood tall with a strong third-period performance under pressure. 

Charlotte pushed hard, pulling their goalie and generating chances in the final minutes, but Abbotsford held on. 

Goals from Sammy Blais and Danila Klimovich helped erase an early deficit. It was a hard-fought, physical series—and the Canucks finish it on top. The Calder Cup is heading to Abbotsford.

Abbotsford Canucks are the AHL Champions and they will hoist the Calder Cup Trophy tonight. 

The Canucks are the champions for the first time in franchise history. 

The players are absolutely elated.

The Calder Cup will reside in Canada for the next year.
