The 2025 Calder Cup Finals shifted to Abbotsford Centre for Game 3 with the series tied 1-1. 

After two tightly contested overtime wins, the Abbotsford Canucks exploded offensively to take a commanding 6-1 victory over the Charlotte Checkers, seizing a 2-1 series lead.

The first two periods remained close, with Charlotte taking an early lead on a goal by Oliver Okuliar. Abbotsford’s Sammy Blais answered with a power-play goal in the second, tying the game at 1-1.

In the third period, Abbotsford unleashed a flurry of goals, beginning with Linus Karlsson’s score. The Canucks kept the pressure on, with Arshdeep Bains netting two additional goals, and Phillip Di Giuseppe and Tristen Nielsen adding one each.

The Canucks’ attack and Šilovs’ goaltending give the Canadian side momentum heading into Game 4 at home on Thursday.

End Of Game: Canucks Win!

Final: Charlotte 1, Abbotsford 6

When the third period began the score was still 1-1, but in less than 15 minutes the Abbotsford Canucks had run up the score for a monumental 6-1 win. 

In their very first Calder Cup Finals game ever, the Canucks ran up the score in what had been a fairly even game. Linus Karlsson got the Canucks started in the third, scoring four minutes into the period to put them up 2-1. 

After that, Arshdeep Bains scored twice, and Phillip Di Giuseppe and Tristen Nielsen each had a goal apiece. 

Artūrs Šilovs tended a masterpiece in goal after giving up the first goal to the Charlotte Checkers Oliver Okuliar. 

The Abby Canucks will take a 2-1 series lead into another game at home on Thursday.
