When Is The NHL Draft 2025
The National Hockey League's first entry draft was held in 1963 and was set up with the goal to allow teams to select rights to the world's best young talent on the ice, typically between 18 and 21 years old. It's typically held two to three months after the season concludes.
In 2025, the NHL Draft will start on Friday, June 27 at 7:00 p.m. ET with Round 1 and continue with Round 2-7 on Saturday, June 28 at 12:00 p.m. ET. It will be hosted at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, CA.
Round 1 streams live on ESPN, ESPN+, Sportsnet, and TVA Sports. Round 2 streams live on NHL Network, ESPN+, Sportsnet, and SN1.
The NHL Draft Lottery determined the order for the first round of picks. For round two and beyond, the teams will pick in the reverse order of points earned during the regular season, starting with the San Jose Sharks.
