North Dakota will play against Michigan in Maryland Heights Regional of the 2024 NCAA Men's Hockey Tournament.
North Dakota hockey and Michigan hockey enter their matchup at the NCAA Men's Hockey Tournament both as unranked teams, but at No. 6 and No. 10, respectively, in the final Pairwise Rankings for the 2024 season.
North Dakota has one of the best resumes in the NCAA Tournament, defeating a handful of fellow participants. NDU had wins against Macklin Celebrini's Boston University team, Wisconsin, Minensota, Denver, Omaha and Western Michigan. The Fighting Hawks had an overall record of 26-11-2--tied for the fourth-highest win total in the NCAA this season.

Michigan had an overall record of 21-14-3 this season. The Wolverines had wins against Wisconsin, Michigan State and UMass this season, but notably, are fresh off the heels of a well-contested overtime loss against rivals Michigan State in the Big Ten Conference Tournament final.
The Wolverines are one of, if not the most historic hockey programs in NCAA Men's Hockey history. They are currently tied with the Denver Pioneers for the most Frozen Four championships all-time--both teams appear in the tournament this year.
Michigan is led by Rutger McGroarty and Gavin Brindley, both players appeared on Team USA's World Juniors championship team.
North Dakota will play Michigan on March 29, at 8:30pm ET in Maryland Heights, Mo.

Yes. Michigan hockey and Michigan State hockey can play in the NCAA Men's Hockey Tournament. Both the Wolverines and the Spartans are in the Maryland Heights Regional and will play each other if each wins their respective first-round matchups. The game would be a rematch of the Big Ten Tournament final, which MSU won in overtime, 5-4.
