GOTHENBURG, Sweden – The United States will be the No. 1 overall seed in the medal round at the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship, finishing the preliminary round as the only unbeaten team. The quarterfinals begin Tuesday with the top four teams from each group crossing over in the single-elimination round of the tournament.
Team USA will meet Latvia in the quarterfinal stage, host Sweden will take on Switzerland, while Slovakia will take on Finland. Meanwhile, defending champion Canada will go head-to-head with Czechia in a rematch of last year’s gold-medal game.
